Oh vacation you tempestuous biatch!

Vacation is defined by Merriam-Webster as:

1 a respite or a time of respite from something : intermission
2 - (a) a scheduled period during which activity (as of a court or school) is suspended (b) a period of exemption from work granted to an employee
3 a period spent away from home or business in travel or recreation

I would like to add to that:

Vacation is a respite from your diet, a period spent away from your exercise schedule and a an inordinate amount of time eating improper things.......

Which all adds up to a weight gain, to which I say:  Keep calm and run.  I registered for a new race:  It's the Perth Kilt run on July 2nd.  It's an 8km run and yes, we get to run in kilts!  lol  Part of the registration fee pays for your very own kilt to sweat in!  Ain't that awesome?

I looked in my weight watchers books of weight ins and I've set myself back about a month... in one week.  Ouch!  Gotta refocus and rededicate myself to the cause... my cause!

ps.  It annoys me that I can't update my blog from work anymore...hence the lack of posts *pout*

  1. If you jump back into your old schedule, the 'vacation weight' should come back off faster than it did originally... I think 'quick weight' is more like water-weight... it isn't "really" there. It's just your body reacting to the change in eating/activity pattern. Keep up the back-on-track work, and it should disappear quickly.

I'm glad you registered for the race :) You've got two options -- you can run it, or you can walk it with me and the others who don't run anymore :)

Though if you did run it, it'd be good practice for your goal 10K.
