Spud-tastic!

Last Thursday we had another good run in the cold air. We ran 10:1 x 3 and that made 3kms on the route that the instructors picked. It was really good, I'm still behind the pack, but we never lost sight of them and didn't have to use the little "in case you get lost map"

The downside to running in the cold air is not being able to chat with friends while standing around our cars in the parking lot... we did for a bit, but I froze my butt off! I got home and took a warm shower and still felt cold brrr For the next few days I was sore all over :(

So this morning as I get up and see SNOW! I can't help but think that Thursday is going to be another cold air run and I'll have to remember to get to a warm place after we're done :D

I'm getting nervous about the race.. i was nervous all along, but this is more the "OMG there are 6 thousand people out here!" kind of nervous. I know I'm going to finish, and I know I'll probably do better than I expect, I just get nervous about the unknown and on that day i'll be fine :P

Water just rolls off of the Spud

Last week our run was cancelled because of the lightning... booo  but on the upside it gave me time to train up to the 10 min run.  I ran on my treadmill on Saturday 10:3 and that felt pretty good.  The bigger test was when Alex and I ran outside on Tuesday night and did the 10:3 x 2. We rocked it!! :)

So when it came to our most recent Running Room class ... the day was sunny albeit a bit cool and then in the late afternoon the clouds rolled in.. but the rain stayed away while we were at Subway... and then as we decide it's time to get changed and head over to the Running Room, there was a misty rain. Booo :(

By the time we were done with the class and everyone was ready to run the rain was pretty steady, but as we both got our running jackets and had hats, the water didn't bother us at all.

And the 10 min run x 2 outside with the group? We kicked it! I was still at the back of the pack, but I don't care :) We didn't seem to be as far back as usual, but maybe that's just my wishfull thinking :)

I was so jazzed and energized when I got home... it's probably not the runners high that people talk about... must be a jolt of serratonin aka happy juice LOL

Next week we're going to be doing 10:1 x 3 so i'm going to work on that on my own and with Alex before the next class so that we can kick aces again :)

The Spud loves Serratonin!

Survived weeks 2 and 3 of the running room class... 5:1 and 7:1 of run + walk.  This week it's 10:1 some deity out there help me please! :P

Me and my treadmill are getting along awesomely.. I walk all over him and he helps me loose weight!  I haven't lost a ton, so I won't jinx it by getting into the numbers, but I'm just really happy that the needle on the scale is going in the proper direction.  I've lost way more inches than I have weight, so build me some of that fat burning muscle baby!  It's a good thing that running makes your body produce serratonin.. the natural happy feeling... because otherwise, I think I wouldn't like running LOL

I got my running jacket last week and tonight Alex should be getting hers  YAY!  We've come so far... didn't even think I'd get this far or stick with it this long.  Will post pictures of the treadmill and us in our jackets as soon as I get around to it :P

I've got 4 months worth of injectable iron and B12 ready to go, so I'm hoping that starting that up with help with the tired and slow weight loss ... and if nothing else, it will help me feel more human and maybe even energetic!

On that note... it's off to work, but I'd rather go back to bed... cold and rainy ... bleh
